Led by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department, our project Build4GreenIST, initiated in June 2023 with project partners Environmentally Friendly Green Buildings Association (ÇEDBİK), Demir Energy, and SMARTE Florawise, aims to create a guideline for ensuring that buildings renovated as part of urban transformation are green and carbon-neutral. Additionally, the project aims to promote behavior change for efficient energy use by monitoring energy consumption through sensors in selected pilot area residences.

In line with the Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission to support the city's transition to climate neutrality by 2030 and to test innovative approaches, the "NetZeroCities Pilot Cities Program" call was answered with the "Transition Guide to Green and Carbon Neutral Buildings - Istanbul Model (Build4GreenIST)" project on behalf of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The project has been awarded technical and financial support for a period of two years. Istanbul has been selected as the only pilot city from Turkey.
