SBT-Science Based Targets

Science-based targets provide companies with a clearly-defined path to reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement goals. More than 2,000 businesses around the world are already working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Targets are considered ‘science-based’ if they are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to well-below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C.

City GHG Inventory

Cities are estimated to be responsible for an estimated 75 percent of global energy-related carbon dioxide emissions. Cities have the opportunity for tackling climate change with their financial and human resources. The first step for cities to acknowledge the potential is to identify and measure their emissions. This will provide a feedback to decide and prioritize mitigation actions.

Mitigation

Mitigating climate change is about reducing the release of greenhouse gas emission. It also encompasses making the most of any potential beneficial opportunities associated with climate change (for example, longer growing seasons or increased yields in some regions).
