REMOURBAN is a project financed by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program and will last 5 years (2015-2020). The main objectives of the REMOURBAN Project can be summarized as; to identify innovative solutions and designs by combining the applications of energy, transportation and information and communication technologies in a single point, to implement and disseminate the urban transformation model in the districts and cities, to increase the quality of life of urban life, to provide social acceptance and environmental sustainability, to understand and implement innovative business models for urban regeneration.
REMOURBAN Project is supporting and improving innovative solutions in energy transport and ICT sectors in lighthouse cities Tepebasi – Eskisehir (Turkey), Valladolid (Spain) and Nottingham (England) and follower cities in Seraing (Belgium) and Miskolc (Hungary). The REMOURBAN Project is a model that includes all the detection and decision-making processes necessary for urban transformation. This model also includes decision support mechanisms for selecting the best solutions for the development of key parameters defining smart and sustainable urban transformation. These decisions will provide the appropriate technology with minimum risks and most effective business plans to create local value.

As one of the 22 project partners, Demir Enerji has undertaken the coordination of the Turkish team, including Tepebaşı Municipality, Anadolu University, Ölçsan and Energon companies. Demir Enerji is the leader responsible partner of one of the work packages of the project, the development of a replicable urban regeneration model. In addition, many tasks have been undertaken under the scope of international studies of the project such as sustainability analysis, replicability and dissemination.
